The Black Block | GMU Homecoming 2026

Our founder, Tiara, led the planning and execution of the GMU Black Alumni Chapter’s signature Homecoming tailgate, The Black Block, including the launch of Legacy Lane, a space highlighting Black alumni entrepreneurs and local small businesses.

When severe weather forced a full indoor pivot less than 24 hours before the event, she led rapid coordination across partners, vendors, and volunteers to successfully reimagine the experience.

The result was a high-energy, joy-filled gathering where students and alumni came together to reconnect, celebrate, and build momentum ahead of the Homecoming game. The space was filled with positivity, dancing, and pride, a reminder of the power of community when it shows up fully and intentionally.
